Story Medicine™

When your mind knows better — and your body still won't believe it.

The Pattern

You've done the work. You can name the pattern. You can trace it back to its origin. You understand, intellectually, exactly what's happening.

And yet — the same reactions. The same relational loops. The same body that tightens in the old familiar ways. Not because you haven't done enough work. Because the work hasn't reached the body.

Your nervous system is still running a program written years ago — a survival story that made perfect sense at the time. But you've outgrown it. Your mind knows this. Your body doesn't.

Story Medicine was built for this exact moment — the gap between understanding and embodiment. Between knowing what needs to change and actually changing it at the level that matters.

Insight changes understanding.
Somatic healing changes the pattern.

The Process

Four phases of somatic work

Excavate

We map the survival narratives your nervous system is still running — the stories that once protected you but now limit you.

Regulate

We build somatic capacity — expanding your window of tolerance so your body can hold the truth without collapsing or bracing.

Rewrite

We use narrative identity practices to consciously author a new story — one your body can believe, not just your mind.

Embody

The new narrative is rehearsed somatically until it becomes your default state — not a performance, but a new way of being.

The Container

What you receive

  • One-to-one somatic coaching sessions, virtual
  • Nervous system excavation + narrative rewrite protocols
  • Somatic practice library (audio & video)
  • Narrative workbook for between-session integration
  • Between-session Voxer support
  • Integration session to close the container
The Science

Grounded in neuroscience. Delivered with ceremony.

Polyvagal Theory — Your nervous system determines whether real change is neurologically possible. Story Medicine creates the physiological conditions for it.

Narrative Identity — The gap between your performed self and your authentic self creates measurable physiological stress. We close that gap somatically.

Epigenetic Science — Somatic and narrative practices can reverse the molecular signature of chronic stress at the cellular level. This is mechanism, not metaphor.

Built on peer-reviewed research including Porges (2011), Buric et al. (2017), Carleial et al. (2021), and van der Kolk (2014).

This is for you if:

  • You've done therapy, coaching, or sat with medicine — and the patterns still run.
  • You understand your triggers intellectually but your body keeps choosing the old response.
  • You feel successful on paper but fragmented or exhausted underneath.
  • You're ready to stop managing symptoms and start living from truth.

This is not for you if:

  • You're looking for therapy or crisis intervention.
  • You want someone to tell you what to do.
  • You're not willing to sit with discomfort.
  • You're looking for a quick fix or surface-level coaching.

Plain Answers

What people ask before they enter.

What is Story Medicine™?

A one-to-one somatic coaching container built for the gap between understanding and embodiment — for people who can name their pattern precisely and still watch it run. It locates the story the body is telling, traces the lineage it came from, and builds the nervous system capacity to hold a different ending. State first. Story second.

How is this different from therapy?

Therapy typically works with processing the past and diagnosing pathology. Story Medicine is not therapy, crisis intervention, or a substitute for licensed mental health treatment. It assumes you already understand your patterns, and works underneath the understanding — at the nervous system level, where insight becomes change.

What method does it use?

Four phases: Excavate, Regulate, Rewrite, Embody. Grounded in Polyvagal Theory, narrative identity research, and epigenetics — Porges (2011), Buric et al. (2017), Carleial et al. (2021), van der Kolk (2014).

What does it cost?

$750 — one-to-one, virtual, worldwide. The First Signal, a single 90-minute mapping session, is $97 and is the most common starting point.

Who is it for?

People who have done therapy, coaching, or sat with medicine — and the patterns still run. It is not for people seeking therapy or crisis intervention, a quick fix, or someone to tell them what to do.
